The Space regularly puts on conversation and networking events which usually include leading film industry professionals.
Previous events have included legendary director Sir Alan Parker, award winning composer David Arnold and film editor Chris Dickens.
Fabrica is the leading visual arts organisation in the city and is based in former a Regency church in the heart of Brighton. The organisation commissions contemporary visual art installations specific to the building which includes artist moving image.
Fabrica also runs a film club once a month.
The leading digital culture agency in the South East which presents regular artist moving image screenings and talks in their digital exhibition spaces.
Capturing Colour was an exhibition held at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery from December 2010 to March 2011.
It focused on the moving image in Britain from the origins in magic lanterns, early colour photography and Kromskops, to applied colour films, Kinemacolor, Technicolor and Kodachrome. It shows fantasy worlds, fairy tale genies, the wonders of the natural world, pageantry, cinema blockbusters and home movies all capturing the world in colour.
These events are open to all film workers who are in any aspect of the industry; screenwriters, producers, directors, actors, camera crew, make-up, visual FX artists, composers, art directors, print and social media experts… are all welcome. Pop along, make new contacts and make movies.
A growing community of filmmakers – run by filmmakers, for filmmakers. Bringing together filmmakers, to be inspired by practical workshops and social gatherings taking place in Brighton.
Videoclub is an organisation dedicated to showcasing contemporary projects from moving image artists. The club invites new contributors to exhibit their film, videos and imagery which is then targeted to a wider audience to increase engagement with works from today’s creatives.
